HONORS PROJECTS

In my experience with HON H200, I have participated in many significant learning experiences that have impacted my academic and personal growth. Here are a few!

What is Burnout? Presentation

The first experience was the presentation on burnout completed with three other group members. This experience allowed me to define what burnout is and how it affects students. I also shared my own experiences with burnout and discussed strategies to combat it. This experience taught me the importance of self-care, recognizing the signs of burnout, and developing strategies to prevent it. It also allowed me to share my own experiences with others, which I hope will help others in the future.

Kelley Honors Admission Video

The second experience was the admission video to the Kelley Honors Program. This experience allowed me to reflect on my accomplishments and share them with others. It gave me the opportunity to showcase my skills in public speaking and singing as a minister. It also provided me with a chance to share my journey of overcoming injury from football and still graduating as second in my class, giving the valedictorian speech, and receiving Summa Cum Laude honors with a 4.325 GPA. The recognition I received from the Missouri Senate and Missouri HOR was a testament to my hard work and dedication. This experience taught me the importance of self-reflection, celebration of accomplishments, and the value of sharing one's journey with others.

The third experience was creating an elevator pitch to ask the professor to give me an honors contract. This experience taught me the importance of being proactive and taking initiative. It also taught me the value of creating opportunities for myself and not waiting for them to come to me. The honors contract provides me with the opportunity to complete an additional, high-level and complex project or assignment in exchange for receiving Honors credit in the class. This experience allowed me to challenge myself academically and further develop my critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Overall, these three experiences have been significant in my academic and personal growth. They have taught me the importance of self-reflection, self-care, and taking initiative. They have also allowed me to challenge myself academically and develop my skills as a student and leader. I am grateful for the opportunities that HON H200 has provided me and I look forward to continuing my academic journey.
